Situated in the south of England, Travelling Gun is well-connected to assist with all your pheasant and partridge shooting needs.
Types of days
Everyone has their own idea about what makes the best sort of shooting day for either themselves or their friends. We are able to arrange a variety of days to suit all tastes and budgets. Some examples are given below.
1. Boundary days with bags of up to 100-150.
These days are usually driven shoots and may be on a larger shoot which utilises the outer edges away from the larger drives. These days can be enormous fun and do not have to break the bank.
2. Driven 150-300 bird days.
These can still be relaxed days and depending on the shoot, lunch might be in a private house, a shoot room on the estate or in a classic country pub. Each shoot has its own unique blend of shooting and hospitality.
3. Driven days of more than 300 birds.
There are plenty of excellent shoots that fall into this bracket. They include some high quality partridge and pheasant shoots with many now offering a combination of the two. The shooting itself can be suited to all skill levels.
Accommodation
We can arrange accommodation which can vary from a country pub to quite literally a castle.
Many pubs which are set in good shooting country have deliberately developed eight or ten rooms to suit the typical shooting party. Accommodation standards are ideal for a shooting party, frequently there is a private dining room, and costs are generally very reasonable.
At the more exclusive end, there are some wonderful private houses and castles which can be taken over by a shooting party.
How to proceed
Whatever your choice of shoot and accommodation, it does not have to be a daunting affair. Before we suggest any shoot, we strongly encourage you to discuss what sort of requirements you have. A brief telephone call will enable us to recommend something that is appropriate for you needs.
